AN INEXPENSIVE 3-STAR HOTEL IN PARIS
Between the Champs-Elysées and Montmartre
Known as the most beautiful avenue in the world, the Avenue des Champs-Elysées is undoubtedly an unmissable stop in Paris. It is popular with Parisians and tourists all year round, who are eager to walk the 2 kilometres between Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triomphe.
On the bus or by foot, it is very easy to visit the Champs-Elysées from our hotel. You can also visit luxury stores, renowned restaurants and cafés, or choose a museum or monument to visit.
Every year, the Champs-Elysées are the backdrop for major popular events: the Bastille Day parade, the arrival of the Tour de France, the Christmas lights and market... The Avenue des Champs-Elysées is also notable for the presence of major museums such as the Grand Palais and Petit Palais and the Palais de la Découverte. On the other side of Place de la Concorde, where the Obelisk takes pride of place, you can visit the Musée de l’Orangerie or the Jeu de Paume, and even venture to the Louvre.
Above the Champs-Elysées at the Place de l’Etoile, you can admire the largest arch in the world: the Arc de Triomphe, the top of which provides a unique view over Paris. It was built in 1806, on the request of Napoleon, to celebrate his victory in Austerlitz. The architects Chalgrin, Joust and Blouet created the monument. The sculptures are signed Cortot, Rude, Etex, Pradier and Lemaire. The Tomb of the Unknown Solider can be found underneath the arch, the flame of which is lit every evening at 6:30pm. At the top of the Arc de Triomphe, visitors can enjoy an exceptional view, access from 10am to 11pm (1 April to 30 September) and information boards.
